Z8C17 / 1.4016 / AISI 430

The X6Cr17 is a perfect cutlery stainless steel for knife plates.

Presentation of the X6Cr17 cutlery stainless steel:

The X6Cr17, more commonly referred to as German (1.4016) or American (430) is a ferric stainless steel with an excellent price/quality ratio.

Non-dipping steel:

Unlike martensitic stainless steel, the X6Cr17 is Oxidable without heat treatment. It has much better corrosion resistance termt skills but has weak mechanical characteristics.

Steel for making plates or knife mitres:

It is used for the manufacture of appearance parts only: knife plates, mitres, fake pieces.. For the manufacture of a liner block, the X20Cr13 or Grade 5 titanium must be used.

We recommend using X6Cr17 stainless steel wire for riveting your pads or mitres. Made in the same shade, they will have the same visual appearance after polishing.
