DarkMai cutlery multilayered sandwich damas steel by Baker Forge.

On the basis of 80crv2 carbon steel of this alloy, the workshops Baker Forge assembled a first layer of Coppermascus steel on a 80crv2 steel core for an original "Black-Out" appearance after finishing.

With an unprecedented fusion welding method developed by Coy Baker, DarkMai's multilayer cutlery sandwich steel by Baker Forge showed a metal bond greater than that obtained by traditional fusion welding methods.

After a series of different stresses and tests, this method of welding appears to be revolutionary and gives the assembled assemblies a higher strength, and particularly shear tests.

An innovative welding technique for innovative material.

During 2020, Coy Baker, the young founder of the workshops Baker Forge & Tool, developed an original fusion welding method that allowed it to make copper and carbon steel assemblies for a most successful aesthetic effect.

The method of welding which Coy Baker has the secret has made possible not only a binding, which seemed unlikely, of materials, but also and above all to obtain a final material to the resistance far superior to that obtained by welding by conventional fusion, and in particular to shear, which he called "Coppermascus".

Building on this success, both technical and aesthetic, the workshops Baker Forge have extended this process to other achievements by using, always on the basis of carbon steel, materials as diverse as bronze, stainless steel or pure nickel with equally resistant alloys and an equally artistic and original appearance.

DarkMay steel bars by Baker Forge : Coppermascus GoMay alloy and 80crv2 carbon steel.

This unique alloy results from a coppermascus assembly with the GoMai pattern on each side of a 80crv2 carbon steel.
