A convenient screw and nut assembly system.

Designed and developed by Robert Waldorf Loveless, world-famous American cutlery, this assembly system replaces the traditional rivets with rosette to mount the knife sleeves.

The mounting becomes easier, more precise and the screw clamping of the handle pads better controlled by avoiding possible incidents due to an unfortunate hammer blow from the rivets.

Implementation of Loveless screws.

This screwed assembly system does not require a hammer.

Composed of a screw of Ø4 mm x 40 mm in length and 2 cylinders tapped Ø7 mm x 6 mm in length, a small cruciform screwdriver is sufficient for mounting.

After piercing the pads of the handle for the screw passage, drill again the pads at a very slightly smaller diameter than the nuts of Ø7 mm with a maximum depth of 6 mm to make the housings of the two cylinders.

Screw one of the cylinders until you come in a stop on the screw head, then engage the whole on one side of the handle.

Then position the second cylinder on the other side of the handle and tighten with a cruciform screwdriver to the contact and block the assembly moderately but firmly.

All you have to do is cut the screw head and the part that goes beyond on the other side of the handle, sand and polish the whole for a robust and permanent mounting.

This convenient Loveless assembly system allows mounting all types of knife sleeves up to 40 mm thick.

The aesthetics in addition.

After sanding and polishing, this Loveless screws screws and brass nuts of the same shades present the appearance of perfectly circular rivets without the risk of rupture following a shock, for example.
