EUROTECHNI IS PROUD TO PRESENT YOU ITS BRAND NEW WEBSITE!
The Takefu Coreless - VG10 + VG2 is a concentrate of Japanese metallurgy know-how. Takefu Special Steel, renowned for the quality of its shades, offers the cutlery an exceptional stainless steel, brilliant both in its technical and aesthetic qualities. The Takefu Coreless stainless steel damas assembles two exceptional stainless steel shades, which are well known to cutlery craftsmen: VG10 steel and VG2 steel.
This shade of Takefu Coreless stainless steel damas does not present a "motif" as such: basic, it recalls the straight and uniform lines present on the Suminagashi VG10. It will be necessary for the cutlery to hammer the blade to come create the pattern, by means of a hammer, cold. The impact points will distort the layers of "mou" steels to create unique patterns, in drops of water.
The Takefu Coreless Stainless Damascus is composed of VG10 and VG2 steel, grades made from low impurities raw materials. Their compositions guarantee excellent mechanical properties: resistance to impact, bending, flexibility and ductility of blades. Both grades are also highly carbon-based, allowing excellent cutting quality and easier sharpening. For example, Takefu Coreless - VG10 + VG2 stainless steel Damascus will be particularly suitable for the manufacture of kitchen knife blades. High-end shade requires, it will also suit all types of projects, for fixed knives like folding knives.
The Takefu Coreless Stainless Damascus is soaked in the same way as Takefu's "monobloc" VG10 steel. You can find all our recommendations for the thermal treatment of this exceptional grade on our technical sheet, freely searchable and downloadable. Thus, the Japanese Takefu Coreless Stainless Damascus will have to be soaked between 1050 and 1100°C for about 15 minutes, in air or oil. To achieve the best results in hardness and ductility, we recommend driving an income between 150 and 250°C, in two cycles of two hours each.
The Takefu Coreless - VG10 + VG2 is a stainless steel damask. To reveal this, it will be necessary to use acids with enough attack. Also, to reveal the reasons for this grade, on properly defatted and cleaned blade, you can use, at your option, hydrochloric acid diluted in water (recommended concentrations: 15% HCL / 85% H2O) or overactivated iron perchloride, available on our website.
