This Habermann hammer, perfectly optimized with an ideal weight distribution, has a compact shape slightly curved on its surface and rounded edges.
With a weight of 1.3kg, it is perfect for forging work and especially for art metalwork.
This Habermann hammer was designed in its every detail by Alfred Habermann, Master blacksmith, German-Czech sculptor and designer, nicknamed "Pape de la forge".
In the second part of the 20th century, Alfred Habermann travelled the world, enriching his techniques and art with the greatest blacksmiths such as the German Fritz Kühn or the Italian Toni Benetton, both of world renown.
In 1975, Alfred Habermann founded his own "Forge in the Forest" workshop near Studená, a small municipality in the Czech Republic, on the high plateaus of Bohemia and Moravia.
It is here that he made his most famous works, his art and his passion giving rise to numerous books, documentaries and even a film, "Le Forgeron de Bohême" released in 1993.
Since 2008, the year of the death of Alfred Habermann, an award has been awarded to his name, rewarding outstanding blacksmiths in the art of forging and metalwork.
This title is awarded at the largest symposium of blacksmiths and metal sculptors in Europe (Hefaiston) at Helfštýn Castle in Central Moravia.
