This kit with elements entirely made in France is ideal for beginners in learning the secrets of mounting pocket knives. A little more experienced enthusiasts will see a significant reduction and a perfect mastery of manufacturing costs from a series* to several dozen pieces.

The assembly of your knife will teach you the gestures of the cutlery and the careful adjustment.

Accessible to all tinkerers, the assembly is done with a simple material that we all have on our set (a file, abrasive paper, a hammer, a drill, a vice). Just follow the instructions for use of the leaflet included in your kit or our video tutorial to make your own Laguiole pocket knife.

To make your knife truly unique, you can choose a sleeve dressing other than the pair of pads provided, from our selection of sleeve materials to customize your Laguiole according to your desires: wood? Carbon fiber? Maybe even epoxy resin or composite materials as new as resistant (G10, Micarta, SureTouch, Elforyn or Juma)? One thing is certain: you will have a choice!

Professional materials.

The KIT HOME BLADE - LAGUIOLE By Eurotechni is composed of elements ready for assembly entirely made in France with the same materials as those used by cutlery professionals, a guarantee of strength and longevity.

The blade is made of 12c27M stainless steel from the world-famous Swedish manufacturer Sandvik. It is soaked according to a suitable heat treatment process which increases its hardness, resistance to external aggression and oxidation. Finally, this treatment guarantees the blade a high cutting power after sharpening.

The plates, the frame of your Laguiole knife, are made of stainless steel X6Cr17 (430), a steel that maintains flexibility and strength.

The mitres, typical of the Laguiole knives, are made in the same steel and are welded on the plates.

The spring and corkscrew of your KIT HOME BLADE - LAGUIOLE KIT COUTEAU are made of stainless steel X20Cr13 (420), a steel that allows good flexibility in all circumstances.

The spring has been subjected to a special soaking process which gives it the flexibility necessary to open and close the blade without it risking to break. Naturally, the famous bee is present, carefully welded on the spring.

The stainless steel X6Cr17 (430) rivets are to be cut during the assembly of your KIT HOME BLADE CUT - LAGUIOLE with sufficient length to allow the assembly to be permanently fixed (see the included assembly instructions or our video tutorial).

Made in stainless steel identical to the platinums, the rivets will be perfectly invisible on the mitres of your Laguiole knife after a meticulous polishing.

Note: the rivet used for the (shortest) blade axis is slightly larger in diameter than the other fastening rivets. Do not use other (longer) rivets to assemble the blade.

Be careful, however, not to let it stay in the water or put it in the dishwasher and think carefully after each use: if the steels are rigorously selected for their resistance to oxidation, the materials chosen for the handle could suffer irreversible damage.

Laguiole, a name, a legend.

Laguiole is a well-known name for all cutlers, collectors and knife lovers. Since the end of the 18th century, the town of Laguiole, in Aveyron, has cultivated the cutlery tradition with its models with characteristic shapes adorned by the famous bee affixed for the first time to the spring of Laguiole by Jules Calmels, grandson of the creator of these knives, in 1909.
