The CPM S45Vn is a grade developed by the American company Crucible Industries, since its foundation in 1876, specialized in the manufacture of special steels. This nuance is the result of know-how and a requirement recognized throughout the world.

The CPM S45VN cutlery steel is a martensitic stainless steel made by powder metallurgy, designed to offer corrosion resistance and wear that are superior to those of the CPM S35VN grade, also developed by Crucible Industries. The CPM S45VN provides excellent edge hold and impressive corrosion resistance. Made from powder metallurgy, the grade CPM S45VN is also very pure, and can reach high hardness according to the heat treatment conducted.

To soak the CPM S45VN, it is necessary to cool quickly, in air, or with soaking oil. Cryo can achieve the highest hardness permitted by the grade (up to 62HRC).
